Suffering Jukebox
Effective August 29, 2026 · Version 2026-08-29.1

Terms of Use

Suffering Jukebox is operated by Johnny Outlaw, LLC. The service lets listeners discover and enjoy music through public YouTube embeds and, where available, authorized mobile background play.

Plain-language rule

Uploading audio is only about mobile background play. On a computer, and on a phone with the screen on, the jukebox plays public YouTube videos. Do not upload something merely because you possess a file. Personal storage requires the right to store and personally play it. Publishing uploaded audio for another listener's mobile background play requires authority over both the recording and the underlying song, plus every other necessary clearance.

1. Agreement and eligibility

By creating an account, uploading content, importing listening history, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13 to use the service and at least 18 to enter the Artist Catalog License. If you act for an organization or artist, you represent that you can bind it.

2. Private personal audio, for background play on your own phone

Personal audio is stored in an account-isolated private bucket and is intended solely for background playback on a phone by the account that uploaded it. You retain responsibility for having the right to make, store, and personally play the uploaded copy. Personal uploads are not licensed for public mobile background play, sharing, other cross-user playback, sale, or redistribution.

3. Artist-authorized mobile background play

Music discovery, and playback on a computer or on a phone with the screen on, use YouTube links whether or not any audio has been uploaded. Uploaded audio becomes eligible for public mobile background play only after an authenticated applicant signs the current Artist Catalog License and Suffering Jukebox verifies and approves the submission. The artist license, not a personal-upload checkbox, is the authorization for that limited cross-user playback, and it reaches no further than the background-play feature.

4. Your content, imported data, and conduct

You keep ownership of your content. You may import only data that you have the right to provide to us. You may not submit infringing, unlawful, deceptive, malicious, privacy-invasive, or rights-encumbered material; impersonate a rights holder; provide false ownership information; evade a restriction; or interfere with security. Self-service artist submissions are limited to original catalogs with no uncleared covers or samples.

5. Listening data and de-identified insights

We process account, device, session, listening, interaction, library, and feature-use information to operate, secure, maintain, improve, develop, analyze, and understand the service; conduct research; and support business planning and development, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may create, use, disclose, license, publish, or commercialize aggregated or de-identified statistics and insights that do not reasonably identify you. We do not disclose identifiable listening histories to third parties for their independent use except with your consent, at your direction, as required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law. Where a feature offers a separate optional contribution choice, declining it does not prevent you from using that feature.

6. Copyright notices and repeat infringers

Uploaded background-play audio is the only audio we host, so it is the only material our copyright process can act on. A complaint about a video on YouTube belongs with YouTube. Copyright notices and counter-notices may be submitted at /dmca. We review complete notices, disable material when appropriate, maintain an account-level action record, and may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. We may preserve records needed to handle disputes and legal obligations.

7. Service changes and removal

We may review, reject, remove, suspend, or restore content and may change or discontinue features. We do not promise permanent storage. Keep your own originals. Artist withdrawal stops future public mobile background-play access promptly, subject to reasonable cache, backup, security, and legal-retention periods.

8. Third-party services

The service uses providers including Supabase, Vercel, Google authentication, Spotify, and YouTube embeds. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply. Suffering Jukebox does not control third-party availability.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing here limits liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.

10. Enforcement and termination

We may limit or terminate access for a material breach, repeated infringement, fraudulent rights claims, security threats, or legal necessity. Account termination may also disable artist catalogs and private-storage access. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain effective.

11. Changes and contact

Material revisions will receive a new version and effective date. Where a change creates a materially new use of personal information, we will provide notice and obtain consent when required by applicable law. A new artist submission requires assent to the then-current Artist Catalog License. Questions: support@outlawapps.online.
